The apartment is situated in the heart of Les Houches, a picturesque village located at the entrance of the Chamonix valley, sitting right under the impressive Mont-Blanc, and located only 6 km from Chamonix town itself.
It is a typical mountain village with wooden Savoyard farmhouses and thankfully lacking in any ugly high rise architecture. Les Houches has in recent years had a high influx of interest from property developers due to its proximity to both Geneva and the entire Mont Blanc ski area resulting in a gentle transformation of old chalets to newer contemporary glass fronted properties. There are a number of great bars and restaurants and buses are on tap in and out of Chamonix all day and for most of the evening when a cold beer or two takes priority over driving !.
Its friendly relaxed atmosphere provides a great base for families and is also ideal for those wishing to explore the rest of the legendary valley as within a very short drive you have access to no fewer than 7ski areas and 3 countries to ski in !!
The ski area is the most extensive in the valley with wonderful tree lined skiing and challenging off-piste. The complete Chamonix ski area is accessible by the free ski bus and there is a bus stop directly at the door of the apartment.
